Real Life Stories
REAL LIFE STORIES are Writing Workshops tailored to suit your needs. Life Stories are also known by the general terms Personal Stories or Life Narratives, as well as by the more specialised names of autobiography, biography, family history, memoir, travel etc. It's a really creative genre, limited only by your imagination. RLS was established in Maleny in 1996. Now the workshop travels everywhere to help people fill those daunting blank pages with stories. Anyone – young or old, beginner or pro – can benefit from Lesley’s unique blend of inspiration and practical help. Past participants include adventurers, greenies, family historians, immigrants, paraplegics, poets, prisoners, scientists, songwriters, survivors of trauma and many others.
This is not to suggest that only those with unconventional lives should write about them because
everybody has a story to tell and if you don’t write it, who will?
When beginning a life story project – for newbie and experienced writers alike – the one-day RLS Starter is the way to go. RLS Masterclass works best when first drafts are pretty much in place. RLS Retreat is designed for those who want a whole week to get things rocking and rolling. Day workshops run from 10 am – 4.30 pm. The presenter’s fee is $800.

Real Life Stories has been ‘everywhere’ man!
Since 2005, RLS Workshops have travelled to Cairns, Glenmorgan, Kilcoy, Maleny, Mackay, Mount Morgan, Rockhampton, Pittsworth, Townsville and Wynnum, and to the McGregor Winter School of the University of Southern Queensland in Toowoomba.
